How To Submit:
In the categories listed below, make sure that whichever piece(s) you choose to submit meet the submission requirements (page count, page format). Be sure that your piece does not include any past awards or any information about the author (except if you plan on submitting to the lgbtq+ category). Send in your piece through the form attached below!

IMPORTANT:
We acknowledge that (especially in times like these) it is important to examine our world even in its darkest corners. However, as this is a youth-friendly magazine, we will have to turn down your work if it contains explicit and gratuitous content. If you submit work with slightly darker themes, we request that you put a trigger warning centered and above the title of your submission.

Please upload your submission as a pdf and title it based on the category you're submitting to (ex. "Fiction 15-18").
Poetry
No more than 3 Poems at once

LGBTQ+

Feel free to include a 250-word reflection on your piece

Submission Process
After submitting to Word For Word, your entry will take roughly four weeks to process depending on the number of submissions we've received. If you have not heard back after this time period feel free to shoot us an email at wordforwordlit@gmail.com!
